History

Situated in the heart of Tramore is one of the oldest 'Drinking Emporiums' in the town.
The VICTORIA HOUSE (or 'THE VIC' as it’s known locally)Is a pub that exudes 'atmosphere' and 'craic' to all who walk through its doors.
Founded in 1818 as a Coach Stop/Hotel, 'THE VIC' still maintains its old world charm, reflected in its stonewalls and maritime features. Transformed in the late nineteen eighties , the pub is now spread over three floors and a large beer garden overlooking Tramore bay.
Each floor has it's own bar and live music is a regular feature. Some of the better-known musicians to have played at 'The VIC' include:

Don Mescall
Juliet Turner

Eric Bibb
Freddie White
Mick Hanly
The Bhundu Boys
Johnny Mars
Bert Jansch
Begley and Cooney
Chris Smither
Christy Dignam
Dan Crary

The main ground floor bar has a large open fireplace and it’s traditional features help to create a warm cozy atmosphere where many locals and visitors come to enjoy A friendly cup of coffee or a lingering pint. From the main bar a stairway leads to the second floor 'Gormog Bar', which can be hired as a private venue. From here you can enjoy stunning views over Tramore Bay, and it’s unusual boat shaped bar offers a unique touch to any occasion.
At the rear end of the main bar a gallery overlooks the 'Basement Bar' and conservatory. The 'Basement Bar' is a regular venue for live music, and the musicians can be enjoyed at ground level or from the gallery above.
Summertime in 'THE VIC' can be experienced from its famous split-level Beer Garden at the rear of the 'Basement Bar'. Tastefully slabbed with Liscannor Stone, the enclosed garden enjoys panoramic views of Tramore Beach and Bay, and is an ideal location for soaking up the summer sun while enjoying a cold beer.
